“... Thank you so much to everyone who made the golf tournament a tremendous success. Thanks to your generosity, I was able to attend and graduate from the University of Vermont. My family can't thank you all enough for helping to fulfill my mom's dream for all of her daughters to go to college. Her memory will forever be in my heart as I begin my career in Nursing and to help others achieve their dreams...”
“...It was so great to see all of the people who attended the memorial golf tournament. It was nice to see so many familar faces from last year and to see all of our family that attended. The support was truly amazing. Thanks to all the sponsors, raffle donors and volunteers who helped out during the event. Through your help, I'm able to return to UVM again this year for my senior year...”

My family and I genuinely appreciate all the support and love that we receive from friends, family, and members of our community. Special thanks to The Bar & Grill restaurant for hosting the banquet, and for all the people who volunteered their valuable time. About Caroline Okrant Memorial Fund
In December 2011, our beloved Caroline (Flannery) Okrant lost a short, but hard-fought battle against Stage 4 Colon and Liver Cancer. The battle was emotionally and financially draining on her family. One of Caroline's last wishes was to ensure that her three daughters go to college and get their degrees. We're raising money to help make that wish possible. Donations of any size would be appreciated. Thank you very much for your support.
The Okrant girls are (and will be) exploring and exercising all financial aid vehicles available to them, such as loans, grants and scholarships. These valuable tools, combined with your generosity can help make their dreams a reality and fulfill Caroline's wish.
100% of your donations made will be paid directly to the colleges and universities that the girls choose to attend. In addition, all profits from events such as the Golf Tournament and Banquets will also go directly to their schools. In the unlikely event of overfunding, we will deposit those funds into their 529 College Savings plans.
Since our immediate focus is solely the Okrant girls' education, The Caroline Okrant Memorial Fund is not a 501c3 non-profit organization. However, in the long-term, we hope to eventually open the fund up to help other families that have also experienced the unexpected loss of a parent due to cancer, who are struggling to achieve their higher education goals. In doing so, we believe we will achieve 501c3 non-profit (tax-deductable) status.
Again, thank you very much for your support. We look forward to receiving your donations and seeing you at our fundraising events.
